About
The band’s sound is melodic, crunching, and accessible and it’s new five-song EP, Nothing To Lose, is expected to introduce Lucky Monkey to an exponentially larger audience. The record drops March 29th, 2019 and will be supported by a new music video and a Canadian tour. Those close to the band are excited to see these new songs go out into the world to represent real rock music and show listeners everywhere that not all modern music is made of plastic.
The current lineup of Ryan Zeleznik on guitar, Cassidy Hritzuk on vocals, Josh Evans on drums, and Dylan Losell on bass came together in March of 2017. The name Lucky Monkey was chosen to describe the human race, beings that somehow, through a series of natural evolutions (or alien interventions), become the only known species on the planet to be able to think, reason, reminisce, and organize into complex societies. This makes LM a band meant for all mankind.
The band is inspired by the endless pursuit of artistic creation. It always remains true to its own vision and strives to make music that both listeners and industry types can get behind. Lucky Monkey has drawn comparisons to Audioslave, Rival Sons, and Red Hot Chili Peppers but uses its deep and imaginative sensibilities to avoid the shadows of imitation. Already, Lucky Monkey has performed at Rogers Arena for the Vancouver Canucks NHL hockey team, won the Battle of the Bands at Grizfest, Tumbler Ridge, BC, and shared stages with Monster Truck and The Lazys. Lucky Monkey is clearly on the road to bigger things and 2019 is an important year in its emergence. Rock fans looking for new music that’s inventive and substantial need to start listening today.
